I like noticing people’s quirks. I like seeing the different things that makes their eyes light up. I enjoy noticing how they laugh, and the gestures they use when they're nervous. It’s the oddities that they find beauty in that you never noticed before. And when they are absolutely comfortable with their weirdness, it makes you want to be friends with them forever because of how fascinating they are as individuals. Most of all, it makes you realize that your own quirks are pretty awesome as well. 

It always seems to me that people are much better at adapting to different situations than I am. I've never been the most graceful in that department. I kind of just stumble through life; I trip and fall on every pebble and stone. But even though I'm still getting used to all these changes, I'm no longer surprised when a new curve ball is thrown at me. I'm getting more comfortable at being uncomfortable, which is what I believe is supposed to happen. Being comfortable means you stop growing and learning, so I like to think that I'm constantly learning something new. 

Every time I've worked on evenings she never wants to come out of her room. She came out in her wheelchair this one day, wearing only a shirt and a soaker pad to cover her bottom half and the brightest smile on her face.
